Nigeria legend Austin Jay Jay Okocha is the subject of a heated debate after comparisons with Brazil superstar Neymar.
Okocha, who recently led a team of Nigerian legends to the StarSixies World Cup in London , told Uefa.com that Neymar is the player who most resembled him. “The player whose style most resembled mine would be Neymar”, the former Super Eagles captain said.

This comparison doesn’t come as a surprise seeing as Neymar just inherited Jay Jay’s no 10 jersey at the Parc des Princes following his world record £198million move from Barcelona.
Okocha moved to the French capital for a then African record £10million ($17million) deal after dazzling with the Eagles at the France 1998 World Cup.
He spent four years at the Ligue 1 outfit, and despite a lack of major trophies in a spell dogged with injuries, he remains a fan favourite at the club for his mesmeric skills and wonder goals.
Neymar is PSG’s new no 10
With Neymar set to begin his French expedition away at Guingamp this weekend, Jay Jay sees the 25-year-old Brazilian replicating his style, and charisma at the French club.
Okocha’s honest opinion has however been met with controversy, as some fans think the comparison is apt while others believe the Brazilian is way out of his league in terms of achievement.
Here are some of the reactions to the tweet shared on the Uefa’s handle @ChampionsLeague.
