Skin breakouts occur when there is an over production of oil which often results in a clogged pore, and the growth of bacteria inside. Breakouts include acnes; pimples, black heads, white heads and zits in one particular area of the face.
The hormonal cycle can tighten our pores and cause acnes but most times sudden breakouts on the skin are caused mainly by stress.
Here are five things you can do to prevent and reduce skin breakout caused as a result of stress:
Eat Up!
A healthy diet is an important part of beauty. Eating healthy and regularly, drinking lots of water will help reduce hunger and dehydration. Without doing the afore mentioned, your skin will not receive the nutrients it needs. You can also balance your diet with nutrients and vitamins by taking nutritional supplements like Omega 3.
You Don’t Have To Go Bare-Face
Many people mistakenly believe that avoiding moisturizers, lotions or using oil free products will prevent oily skin and clear breakouts. Not so! Drying the skin out will further stimulate the oil glands to produce more oil to compensate for the loss, whereas maintaining a balanced moisture level will keep the skin healthy.
Sleep Well
Stop pulling all-nighters and stop staying up till the wee hours of the night on your phone and get a good night’s sleep. It helps the body recharge, keeps stress levels down and reduces the possibility of breakouts.
Exfoliate your Skin
Acne and pimples start because of clogged pores because of dead cells and this leads to blackheads and blemishes. While we all wash our faces every day, we need to exfoliate regularly to remove dead cell debris and dirt clogged in pores.
Change your Diet
Take a break from sugar, caffeine, and alcohol or whatever you’ve been eating a lot of that you think could be contributing to your acne. Besides making you feel awful, excess alcohol, greasy food, and other unhealthy foods intake will strip your body of vitamins and are terrible harmful to your skin.
